Try how to repair the damaged CDs
The best way to repair scratches from damaged CDs and Dvds is to use a whitening toothpaste or some polish (specially those used by opticians) or you can also use Brasso. Here are the steps to repair a damaged disk:
1. Clean the surface of the damaged disc with help of a soft lint-free cloth. Gentle detergent or alcohol can be used for rubbing alcohol,if there are some grease spots. You should make sure that there are no finger prints or dust particles left any more. While rubbing ,you shouldn't scrub too hard as the scratches may get more complex.
2. Apply little amount of whitening toothpaste or polish on the scratched surface. Applying too much of toothpaste or polish can also make it more harder to recover the damages on CD or DVds.
3. Now you have to rub gently with a lint free cloth moving from the center outwards. Be careful of direction.
4. If above steps are done in good way, You can notice that the scratches are getting minimum or some just disappears.
The success with this method varies greatly.
